« Known for identifying the very best emerging European filmmakers before they are household names, the Premiers Plans Festival of Angers, France lands in Austin in early May with Texas premieres of three of the best new films from their festival, as well as French filmmakers and programmers in attendance, » announced the Austin Film Society, which is Premiers Plans Festival’s partner in Austin.
Here are the movies that will premiere on the first weekend of May:
SPARTACUS & CASSANDRA directed by Ioanis Nuguet (in attendance),
INSECURE (QUI VIVE) by Marianne Tardieu (in attendance)
and
TONNERRE directed by Guillaume Brac.
Premiers Plans Deputy Director Xavier Massé and Premiers Plans programmer & Cannes Fortnight Director Arnaud Gourmelen will also travel from France.
And a « moviemaker dialogue » is scheduled with all those visitors on Saturday afternoon. The discussion will include a meet & greet and Bouvet Ladubay wine reception.
